Due to road construction on Hwy 7, we have to do a different route than planned this week. The road will not be open to cyclists until November, according to the County/DOT websites.

Since I think people still want to do some climbing, let’s do Jamestown again this week. In addition to the traditional route, I’ve included a longer alternate. Choose whichever you like. Both start out in the same direction but split at Nelson and 75th, with the short course continuing on Nelson and the long course turning south on 75th. We’ll all come back from Jamestown the same way.

This is an iconic Boulder County ride. The route is an out and back with all of the climbing in the first half of the ride. We’ll ride up to the country store in Raymond, take a break and then return from there. I’ve not been up since the store got a new owner but will update this description once I know what to expect.

On both the way up and on the return we will pass the park in Lyons. There is a public bathroom there and a place to get water.
