Bike MS: Colorado isn’t just any ride. Normally, it’s a spectacular two-day ride that brings together all types of cyclists from across the country riding to support those living with MS. This year, with the COVID-19 restrictions, the ride is “officially” a virtual ride. However, Team Left Hand is modifying what you can find on the BikeMS website and is hosting several rest stops on two routes between Westminster and Fort Collins. You can start where you want, jump into the route where you want, ride as many miles as you want and stop at any of the rest stops but keep track of your miles, take a few pictures along the way and do your own BikeMS ride.
Date: June 27-28, 2020
Start/Finish Location: Front Range Community College Westminster, CO
Fundraising Minimum: $400
Routes:
The main route with all of the rest stops is based on the “Express” route of years past. It doesn’t have the Horsetooth climb from Masonville. If you decide to do this route, be advised that there is no planned rest stop after Berthoud. You will still have 22 miles if you plan to ride to CSU.

The secondary route is the pre-flood BikeMS route which goes past Carter Lake, through Masonville and into the backside of Horsetooth Reservoir. The last rest stop for the hearty souls that do this route would be at Ron Rane’s house at about the half-way mark. The store in Masonville might be open and the bathrooms at the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space trailhead (at the top of the climb) probably are open, but you shouldn’t count on anything being open and plan your water and food accordingly.
